Conservation Student Aide
The Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District is currently accepting applications for the following: Temporary full-time not to exceed 3 months position: Soil & Water Conservation Student Aide – 2 positions available.
Description of Duties: This position involves a variety of unskilled tasks of routine nature within the District. The duties include office related duties such as filing, data entry, and clerical duties. Field work including site visits, data collection, and hydroseeding.
Minimum qualifications: None. (If under the age of 18, New York State working papers must be submitted at time of application.)
Length of Position: 3 months (Ideally Mid-May – Mid-August)
Hourly Wage: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)
Special Requirement: Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s License or be able to demonstrate to meet the transportation needs of the position.

Vacancy Announcement
Watershed Coordinator
The Franklin County Soil & Water Conservation District (FCSWCD) is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Watershed Coordinator. This position includes responsibilities such as coordination with local water quality committees, identifying and developing proposals for potential funding sources to address non-point sources of water pollution, soliciting project support from landowners, coordinating with partner agencies and local officials, implementing watershed improvement projects, fulfilling the goals and objectives identified in Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) and watershed plan documents, providing technical assistance to local watershed committees and conservation districts, development of watershed plan documents, and water quality project monitoring activities. Works with and under the direction of the Champlain Watershed Improvement Coalition of New York President and Board of Directors. Possession of a valid NYS driver’s license is required (submit copy with completed application). This is not a remote position, and a vehicle is provided to utilize for travel throughout the watershed. Office space is available at each District office for use by this position. Residency is waived.
